Competition: Premier League
Market: Rooney to stay at Man Utd
Odds: 1/16 @ Ladbrokes

Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney had been linked with a move away from Old Trafford all through last season. Chelsea made a bid for him that Rooney was very close to considering, but he signed a new deal with United instead months later.

And while he did reaffirm a desire to remain at the club under former manager David Moyes, Rooney has proven to be a player who can grow discontented when things aren’t going his way.

Last season, he was the club’s most consistently performing players, along with David De Gea in goal, scoring 17 league goals and making 10 assists in 29 games. Moyes was sacked at the tail end of last season and Louis van Gaal brought in this summer, which has also seen two new additions in at the club too.

United are being tipped by bookmakers to finish in the top-four of the Premier League, but the confidence is back within the players that they can put last season behind them. As a result, Rooney is now 1/16 to stay with the club and rebuff any transfer talk that may be heading his way.
