Saturday’s match between Scottish Premiership champions Celtic and Hamilton Academicals at Celtic Park has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Heavy overnight rain in the Glasgow area resulted in a 9.30 GMT pitch inspection, and Celtic posted on their official Twitter account to confirm that the match would not take place.
They tweeted: “Following a pitch inspection at Celtic Park this morning by referee Craig Thomason, Celtic’s game against Hamilton Accies is off.”
The match at Parkhead became the third Scottish top flight game to be hit by adverse weather conditions sweeping across the country.
Hearts’ meeting with Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Tynecastle was called off due to gale force winds, while heavy rain made the playing surface unusable for Partick Thistle versus Motherwell.
Dundee are scheduled to host Aberdeen in a 12.30 GMT televised kick-off and ground staff at Dens Park appeared to have waged a successful battle against the effects of further torrential rain.
Celtic’s Old Firm rivals Rangers will also not be in action after their trip to Raith Rovers in the Scottish Championship was postponed.
