Wenger close to signing new Gunners deal

Arsene Wenger is on the verge of agreeing a new two-year deal with Arsenal, the Metro understands.

The 63 year old is in the final year of his current contract with the club, and has been locked in negotiations with club officials for some time.

Paris Saint Germain have been linked with a move for the former Monaco manager, but he himself stated last week that wants to see out his career in the Premier League.

Should he put pen to paper, his time in North London will run to almost two decades, and having already clinched three Premier League trophies and four FA Cups with the club, he is looking in his strongest position for some years to add to that honours haul.

The Gunners age currently top of the division having won five of their opening seven games, and are available at a price of 9/2 to be crowded champions.
