Wenger ruled out moves for Beckham and Villa

Talk Sport is today reporting that Arsene Wenger has ruled Arsenal out of the running to sign both David Beckham and David Villa in the last few days of the January transfer window.

Villa has been linked with the Gunners for a while now, but it doesn’t look as though a deal is going to materialise, whereas suggestion that Beckham was going to sign for the club came about after he was seen training with the North Londoners.

However, it seems as though the former England captain is trying to stay fit as he searches for a new club and his next employers aren’t likely to be Arsenal.

Beckham is of course a free agent at the moment and there are a lot of clubs in for him, but Wenger doesn’t seem interested in the 37-year-old.

Despite reports of Villa coming to Arsenal, there has never been any confirmed interest from the Frenchman.

Spain’s all-time leading scorer is not getting the first-team opportunities he wants at Barcelona, but he seems to want to fight for his place in the side.

Wenger might still be trying to do some last minute business, but neither Beckham nor Villa look like coming through the door.
