German giants Bayern Munich crashed to a painful 2-5 defeat by Werder Bremen in their Bundesliga clash on Saturday.
Markus Rosenberg put the visitors ahead on the half hour mark and Naldo made it 0-2 just before the break.
Özil netted Bremen’s third in the 54th minute and Claudio Pizarro increased Bayern’s misery five minutes later.
The fifth and final Werder goal came from Rosenberg in the 66th minute.
To restore some of their pride, Bayern got two goals back through Tim Borowski in the 71st and 85th minutes.
The defeat is Bayern’s first this season, while Werder had been trying to get themselves back on track after a disappointing start.
