Werder Bremen sign Dortmund youngster Beste

Werder Bremen have officially confirmed the signing of teenage sensation Jan Niklas-Beste from Borussia Dortmund. The 19-year-old has been on the radar of many teams across Germany and Europe as a whole, but now, he’s committed his immediate future to Bremen who completed the signing for a reported fee of €250,000.

Beste was with Dortmund for four years at the youth level and has also been capped by Germany – although he has yet to make his official debut for the senior team. Beste is often viewed as a right-back but has spoken in the past about feeling more at home on the left, but either way, he’s a useful option to have around when you’re short at the full-back position.

Beste will hope to continue his development with a Bremen side that finished 11th in Bundesliga last season. Dortmund, on the other hand, will have been disappointed with their 4th place finish.
