West Brom and Middlesbrough are both keen on signing Manchester United midfielder Rodrigo Possebon in January.
Possebon joined Portuguese side SC Braga on a season-long loan in the summer but has failed to make an impact at the club.
Reports says United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is now ready to recall the 20-year-old in January and send him out on a new loan move.
West Brom and Middlesbrough are both hoping to land the Italy Under-21 ace on loan until the end of the season.
But the two clubs could face competition to sign the youngster as Possebon remains a highly-rated talent, despite his disappointing spell in Portugal.
