West Brom have confirmed the signing of Tottenham winger Nacer Chadli for an undisclosed fee.

The Belgium international, who arrived at White Hart Lane from Twente in 2013, has signed a four-year contract with Tony Pulis’ side after being deemed surplus to requirements by Mauricio Pochettino.

Chadli becomes West Brom’s second permanent signing of the transfer window after the arrival of Matt Phillips from QPR, while Brendan Galloway has also joined on loan from Everton.

Having seen his side pick up four points from their opening three Premier League games, Pulis was adamant that he needed to add further quality to his squad.

And the Welshman, who is still looking to bring in more reinforcements before Wednesday’s deadline, was thrilled to have secured Chadli’s signature.

“He’s a top, top player and I’m delighted we’ve got him,” Pulis told the club’s official website.

“I said last week that these signings all had to be about players who would improve our squad – and Nacer does precisely that.”

Chadli – who made 119 appearances across all competitions during his three-year spell at Tottenham, scoring 25 goals in total – revealed it did not take long to make a decision about switching to The Hawthorns.

“I feel very good to be here. It came very quickly, but I spoke to the club and they have a good team, a good manager and I am very pleased to be here,” the 27-year-old, who had not featured for Pochettino’s side this season, said.

“My ambitions? I just want to help the team win as many games as possible.”
