According to the Express and Star, West Bromwich Albion have completed the signing of Spanish midfielder, Borja Valero for £4.75 milion on a four-year contract from Real Mallorca.
Valero’s agent Martan Paledes told Expressandstar.com, “He is very happy and is looking forward to playing in the Premier League with West Bromwich Albion. We believe this is a great opportunity for him.”
The Baggies narrowly lost to Arsenal on the opening day of the Premiership and performances suggest that the newly promoted outfit could give some surprises to more established teams this season. The addition of 23-year old Valero could only strengthen that supposition.
But Albion’s chances of re-uniting his former Mallorca team-mate Oscar Trejo with Valero are still hanging in the balance. The Spanish side still wants to keep the 20-year old Argentine, who is also handled by Paledes.
The agent added, “Trejo is a very different negotiation and we are trying to find a solution for him. I have been over here for Valero but, when I get home, I will be having a meeting to see what he wants to do.”
