West Bromwich Albion has signed 25-year old left-back Marek Cech from FC Porto for £1.4 million, according to the BBC Sport.

The Slovakia international has signed a three year deal with the Baggies who open their Premier League campaign at Arsenal on 16 August.

The defender was part of the Porto side that won the domestic league title in Portugal last season and he also appeared in the Champions League.

Cech has now flown out for West Brom’s pre-season tour of Holland and Germany.
