Ryan Donk will no longer play for West Bromwich Albion next season. The Baggies will be relegated and finances force them to let go of some of their players.

The 23-year-old defender joined West Brom from AZ Alkmaar last season, after having been left out of the plans by AZ manager Louis van Gaal. Since making the switch to England, he made just 13 appearances.

It is expected that Donk returns to Alkmaar, and whether he is to return to AZ’s squad will depend on Van Gaal’s successor, Ronald Koeman, who takes over next season.
