West Bromwich Albion move for Fazio

West Bromwich Albion have made a £5m bid for Tottenham Hotspur defender Federico Fazio, according to the Telegraph.

The 28 year old only moved to White Hart Lane last summer, and has racked up thirty-one appearances in all competitions for the North London club.

However, with no less than three new defenders being drafted in by manager Mauricio Pochettino in the close season, the Argentina international has fallen down the pecking order and looks to be heading for the exit door.

Prior to his move to England, Fazio spent seven seasons with Sevilla, playing for them almost two hundred times and scoring fourteen goals while he also has three senior caps for his country.

Should he arrive at The Hawthorns, it could pave the way for fellow centre-back Joleon Lescott to move on with the former Everton and Manchester City man linked with a move to Aston Villa.
