West Ham have reached an agreement with Dutch giants Ajax over the loan signing of Serbian forward Miralem Sulejmani, the English Premier League club confirmed on Wednesday.

A club statement said: “West Ham can confirm the club have reached agreement with Ajax over the loan transfer of Miralem Sulejmani.

“The club have agreed terms with Ajax and also with the Serbian international forward but the 21-year-old’s move from Amsterdam to London is subject to a work permit hearing.

“West Ham United will make no further comment on this matter until the result of that hearing is known.”

Ajax spent a record 13 million pounds on Sulejmani to take him to Amsterdam from Heerenveen in 2008.

However, Sulejmani — who can play as a striker or on the wing — was criticised for his performances throughout his spell with the club and missed out on a World Cup place with Serbia.
