West Ham United are closing in on signing Fulham’s Ryan Fredericks, according to Sky Sports’ sources.
The full-back is set to join the Hammers on a free transfer as his contract expires this month, and the deal should be agreed and confirmed within the next few days.
A number of clubs, including Swansea, Bournemouth and Wolves, were interested in his services in January, but Fredericks decided to stay at Fulham for the rest of the season and in that way postpone making his decision.
Fulham are still hopefull of agreeing a new deal with the player, but the negotiations, lasting since November last year, have so far failed to produce a positive result. Southampton and Crystal Palace are also monitoring the situation, and should it become favourable, they are likely to act.
But at the moment, it looks like a move to the London Stadium is on the cards for Fredericks. Like many other clubs, the Hammers are keen to do as much business as possible before the World Cup.
