West Ham keen to keep hold of Payet

West Ham United have told Chelsea that they will not sell star player Dimitri Payet, according to the Mirror.

The twenty-nine year old has carried his fine Premier League form into the European Championships – providing an assist and scoring a fine winner in France’s 2-1 win over Romania on Friday in the tournament’s opening fixture.

The Blues are preparing for their first season under new manager Antonio Conte, who will take charge after he has finished guiding Italy through Euro 2016, and the clubs scouts are urging the forty-six year old to move for the Hammers’ playmaker.

Payet signed for Slaven Bilic’s side from Ligue One outfit Marseille last summer and racked up thirty-eight club appearances in all competitions last season, scoring twelve goals while his consistently impressive performances saw him named in the Premier League PFA Team of the Year.
