West Ham have completed the signing of Cruzeiro forward Wellington Paulista on a six-month loan deal.
The 28-year-old has joined the English Premier League side from the Brazil Serie A outfit, with an option for a further three years.
After joining Cruzeiro from Botafogo in 2009, Paulista netted 39 goals in 110 matches in the league and Copa Libertadores.
Paulista said he was delighted to join Sam Allardyce’s side and is eager to prove himself one of the best Brazilian strikers in the world.
“I am really happy to be here at West Ham United,” he told West Ham TV.
“Everyone has been very kind to me since I have been at the club this week.
“I think I can do my best here and I am coming to England to prove to everyone that I am one of the best strikers in Brazil and to get better and better.
“I am strong, I am a fighter and I can score with both feet. I run a lot on the pitch and I can play as either as first or second striker.”
