West Ham sign Yarmolenko

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the departure of Andriy Yarmolenko, who has signed for West Ham United on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee. The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to East London throughout the course of the summer transfer window, as the Hammers continue to go after high-profile names in search of a Premier League resurgence next season.

Yarmolenko spent just one year with Dortmund after a sensational nine-year stint with Dynamo Kyiv, and now, he’ll be aiming to cement his legacy as one of the best wingers of his generation. Yarmolenko seems to thrive when there’s less of a spotlight on him and he can focus on his own game as opposed to what’s happening around him, and as unusual as it may sound, West Ham could provide that platform for the Ukranian in a similar manner to how Dimitri Payet managed to flourish there.
