With hundreds of millions of children around the world awaiting the visit of a jolly old fellow in a red suit, Premier League bosses will be hoping that their very own men in suits deliver big fat transfer kitty’s for the January sales.

A number of the Premier League bosses have been scratching their heads trying to work out how to best win games in the cut throat world of the Premier League this season.

Here are some presents that would be greatly received this festive period:

  • A brand new shiny striker for Liverpool

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has spent much of his season trying to work out his best team and pining over his departed superstar Luis Suarez.

The former-Swansea boss has also had to deal with an injury to other first choice striker Daniel Sturridge.

The striking situation at Liverpool has left Rodgers searching manically looking for a gift receipt for Italian striker Mario Balotelli so he could send the striker back and receive a refund.

Signing a new striker in January may be easier said than done for Rodgers in January, with a dearth of quality available and a potential lack of funds could hindering the Reds chances of signing that much needed striker.

Rodgers must be on the naughty list this year, because his team have been poor this season and he may not get what he wants for Christmas.

  • A turnaround in form for Everton

Everton boss Roberto Martinez is another boss on Merseyside in need of some festive cheer. His side have vastly underachieved this season.

Everton’s Premier League campaign has been the picture of inconsistency after last season’s strong campaign. Last season’s form seems miles away, with the Toffees currently sitting 11th in the league table.

Martinez’s side needs to rediscover their form and quickly if they are going to attempt to finish in the Premier League’s top six this season. The Spaniard must be as desperate as the fans for a turnaround in form and the festive period is the perfect time for that to start.

  • A defensive midfielder for old Mr Scrooge at Arsenal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has a reputation for being frugal with the clubs money, well when it comes to defenders anyway.

The ghost of Christmas past has returned with former Gunners hero Thierry Henry returning to these shores to work for Sky, while the ghost of Christmas present, inconsistency seems to have set-up home in north London.

Gunners fans will be hoping that the ghost of Christmas future is a high quality defensive midfielder with a passion for holding his position. However, as Arsenal fans will know from Christmases gone by Ebenezer Wenger may not bring them what they want for Christmas and the veteran Frenchman is more likely to bring them a Tangerine and a lump of coal than that much needed defensive midfielder.

  • Wins for Leicester and Hull bosses

Leicester boss Nigel Pearson will not be greedy over the festive period. His team have shown every other team good will since beating Manchester United 5-3, 13 games ago and his team desperately need a win on Boxing Day against Tottenham at the King Power Stadium.

Hull boss Steve Bruce is another top-flight boss in need of some Christmas cheer over the festive period. The Tigers currently sit second from bottom and have not claimed a win in ten Premier League games.

They visit Sunderland on Boxing Day, which after the Black Cats win over arch-rivals Newcastle last time out will not be an easy fixture for the club from Humberside.

  • A win at Stamford Bridge for Big Sam

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has faced Chelsea on 21 occasions with various clubs and has only ever came out on top twice, unsurprisingly neither of those wins coming at Stamford Bridge.

However, Big Sam’s Hammers head across London in good spirits, currently occupying fourth spot in the Premier League table and looking to stay there until new year. It seems like it is an unlikely present though, as Allardyce has not claimed a victory over Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho in eight encounters with the Portuguese.

Best Wishes

The above Premier League may not get what they want this festive season, but I hope all our readers do and have a peaceful festive period. Thank You
