A Bola is reporting that Portugal international midfielder William Carvalho has agreed to sign a new contract at Estadio Jose Alvalade.
The 23-year-old has become one of Europe’s hottest commodities, having caught the eye of quite a few top sides.
But, while his suitors have yet to make concrete moves, Sporting look set to tie him down to a new contract.
According to A Bola, Carvalho will sign a new deal until June 2020 during the next two weeks, with club chairman Bruno de Carvalho and the player’s representatives Gestifute set for final talks.
Under the terms of the agreement, the central midfielder will be earning around €2 million per campaign, whereas his release clause will remain at €45 million.
William Carvalho recently returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines, and he has already made five competitive appearances this season, starring in the 3-0 derby win over Benfica at the weekend.
