Wilshere wanted by Everton

The Mirror have reported that Everton are interested in bringing Jack Wishere to Merseyside, where he would be reunited with former teammate Theo Walcott.

Wilshere’s contract expires this summer and there have already been reports linking him with several clubs.

But speaking at his press conference ahead of Arsenal’s Europa League rematch with AC Milan on Thursday, Arsene Wenger said the offer of a new contract for Wilshere is there and he hopes the midfielder will eventually accept it. Whether Wenger himself will be there come next season also remains to be seen.

The Mirror suggests that the offer by Everton to bring him to Merseyside would be considerably larger than the one that would see him stay at the Emirates.

Everton spent a lot of money on signings last year, but their season so far has been underwhelming, and has seen them sack manager Ronald Koeman and hire Sam Allardyce for the job. A class player like Wilshere would definitely go a long way in terms of improving their overall quality.
