Wolfsburg finish deal for Kjaer

(GSM) – Wolfsburg have signed Simon Kjaer from Palermo. The Danish defender had been subject of speculations the last weeks but now the German club has confirmed the transfer.

Last week, the Rosanero already confirmed Wolfsburg had made an attractive offer for the 21-year-old center half. However, Kjaer was said to be looking for a bigger move after reported interest from several Premier League clubs including Manchester United, his dream club.

Wolfsburg director Dieter Hoeness is very happy they managed to sign Kjaer: “Simon is a very good, agressive defender and he’s already a true personality on the pitch despite his young age.”

Kjaer als proved to be satisfied with his move from the Serie A to the Bundesliga. “This transfer give me the opportunity to play for a top club,” Kjaer said at the club’s official website. “This is the right move for me. We have a strong side that’s able to compete at the top of the Bundesluga.

“My main goal at Wolfsburg is to become a regular starter.”

Kjaer has signed a four-year deal at the Volkswagen Arena.
