Wolfsburg join race for Sulejmani

Voetbal International understands that VFL Wolfsburg have joined the race to sign Ajax forward Miralem Sulejmani.

Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars revealed last week that Besiktas and Borussia M’gladbach were among the clubs watching the Serbian winger, but few more clubs are keen.

According to Voetbal International, Wolfsburg have sent scouts to watch Sulejmani at the weekend.

Scout Pierre Litbarski made a check on the Serbia international as Ajax’s reserve team lost to their Heerenveen counterpart.

Miralem Sulejmani, who has just six months left on his deal at Amsterdam ArenA, has already expressed his desire to leave the club in the January transfer window.

Ajax officials are also eager to sell as they don’t want to lose him for free come next summer.

After arriving to the club in a €16 million move from Heerenveen, Sulejmani has made 103 Eredivisie appearances for Ajax, scoring 29 goals in the process.
