Timm Klose is mulling over the possibility of a transfer to Wolfsburg, according to Nuremberg general manager Martin Bader.
The Switzerland international has put in a host of impressive displays for Nuremberg this season as they secured a comfortable 10th position in the Bundesliga table.
His performances have led to speculation he could once again play under the stewardship of Dieter Hecking, who left the club to join Wolfsburg in December 2012.
And with just one year remaining on his current contract, Bader admits the club are in discussions to sell the defender.
“I am able to confirm this transfer rumour,” he told Bild.
“Actually, Timm Klose is back home in Basel, Switzerland, as he will be going to make a decision on his future there.
“As far as I am concerned, it’s important for him to find out which club will be best for him to qualify for a berth in the FIFA 2014 World Cup squad of Switzerland.”
Bader also denied claims from FC Zurich director Massimo Rizzo that Nuremberg had bid for striker Josip Drmic, who hit 13 goals in 31 Swiss top-flight games last term.
“We are aware of Josip Drmic, but we are not keen on his signature,” he added.
“Signing a third striker this summer, after the arrivals of Daniel Ginczek and Mariusz Stepinski, would have been an option for us if one other striker of our squad had been wanting to move. Actually I can rule this out.”
