Wolfsburg priced out of Rudiger move

German daily newspaper Bild understands that Wolfsburg may pull out of the race to sign Stuttgart hotshot Antonio Rudiger.

The Wolves are just one of the top sides keen on the Germany starlet and they have been in talks with their Bundesliga rivals over the last couple of weeks.

However, it has now been revealed that the Swabians want no fewer than €18 million for their prized asset, which could prove too much for Wolfsburg.

The Wolves sporting director Klaus Allofs admitted that Stuttgart’s asking price “seems a bit high”, and it remains to be seen whether said figure will prove a deal breaker.

Antonio Rudiger, 22, has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the last couple of years and he is now a full Germany international.

While making 66 Bundesliga appearances for Stuttgart, the talented central defender has been capped 6 times by Die Mannschaft, starting two Euro 2016 qualifiers under Joachim Low.
