Wolves could break the bank for Traore

The Telegraph understand that Wolverhampton Wanderers could be set to break their transfer record with a deal for Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore.

The newly promoted Premier League outfit have previously failed with a £12m bid for the former Barcelona man though they are readying an offer of £18m which would trigger the player’s release clause.

It would also surpass the fee which they laid out for Ruben Neves earlier this summer.

Traore was named Boro’s Player, Young Player and Fan’s Player of the Year last season after racking up thirty-six league appearances and scoring five goals.

The twenty-two-year-old has already spent some time in the West Midlands having played twelve times for Aston Villa prior to his move to the Riverside Stadium.

Tony Pulis’ side are among the favourites to win promotion this season, and they begin the campaign with a trip to Millwall on Saturday afternoon with the away win priced at 15/8.
