Barcelona ace Xavi Hernandez claims keeping Samuel Eto’o at the club is the best signing the club made this summer.
Xavi told Spanish reporters that Eto’o is the best striker in the world.
“I think Eto’o is calm and a crucial member of the squad,” Xavi told Spanish newspaper Sport. “For me, that is the best signing we have made. He is the best centre forward in the world.”
It was believed Eto’o could end up leaving Camp Nou like star players Ronaldinho and Deco did when Pep Guardiola took over as coach at the club.
Xavi also believes new boss Guardiola will be a success as coach at Barcelona.
“He is a perfectionist and very meticulous,” he said. “He has football fever, almost literally but in a good sense and is extraordinary.
“I know that he can convince you of things with just three phrases.”
