Barcelona midfielder Xavi has said he will be fit in time for the first-leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie against Paris Saint-Germain.
The Spain international is being plagued by a thigh injury and missed Thursday’ training session to undergo physiotherapy.
Xavi will therefore be rested for Saturday’s Liga game away against Celta, but has little doubt that he will be recovered in time for Tuesday’s encounter in Paris.
“I will not play against Celta at the weekend, but I will be ready for the game against Paris Saint-Germain,” Xavi was quoted as saying by Sport.
Barca have had to do make do without Adriano, Jordi Alba, Carles Puyol and Pedro recently through a number of different injury complaints.
