Xavi rejects bumper offer from Anzhi

Spanish radio station Onda Cero reports that Barcelona star Xavi has rejected a mega money offer from Anzhi.

The source has revealed that the experienced midfielder was offered a contract worth €21 million per campaign.

However, the player’s response was immediate, as he notified the Russian club that he was not interested.

Xavi has less than two years left on his deal at Camp Nou, which has led to speculations linking the Spain international with a move away from the club.

The player is, nonetheless, currently negotiating a new deal with the Catalans that would see him stay at the club until June 2016.

It is no secret that Xavi wants to retire at Camp Nou and is, therefore, happy to remain a key part of Tito Vilanova’s squad.

The 32-year-old has amassed a total of 399 La Liga appearances for Barcelona, and has scored 50 goals in the process.
