Xavi rejects Qatar move talk

Barcelona icon Xavi Hernandez has moved to reject speculation suggesting that he has already agreed a summer move to Qatar.

Having lost his place in the side at Camp Nou, the veteran midfielder is widely expected to leave the Catalans at the end of the season, and he is believed to have received a lucrative contract offer from Qatar worth €18 million in total.

Some media outlets even reported Xavi had accepted the proposal, but the player has now moved to reveal he has yet to make a decision on his future.

“It is not true, I have not decided anything,” the 35-year-old told Catalan daily Sport.

Xavi Hernandez has another year left on his deal at Camp Nou, but the midfielder appears to be pondering his options at the moment.

Several Major League Soccer sides are reportedly keen on his services, and it looks as though Barcelona will not stand in the player’s way if he decides to leave next summer.
