Yann M’Vila nears Saint-Etienne switch

Rubin Kazan midfielder Yann M’Vila is nearing a winter move to Saint-Etienne, according to L’Equipe.

The highly rated footballer has a contract until June 2020 in Russia, but he has submitted a request with FIFA to have his deal terminated having not been paid last four monthly salaries.

Hoping to become a free agent in the coming days, M’Vila has found an agreement with Saint-Etienne, but he will first need to get confirmation from FIFA before he can sign a contract with les Verts.

Yann M’Vila, 27, didn’t quite manage to realise his full potential after leaving Rennes, but he fared pretty well during a loan spell with Sunderland and has been in fine form this season as well.

The holding midfielder started 19 Russian Premier League matches, scoring 2 goals, and he now hopes to return to France after a five-year absence.
