According to reports coming from Colombia and Spain, La Liga leaders Barcelona have decided to exercise the purchase option and bring Yerri Mina from Palmeiras this January.

Having sealed the deal for one of the hottest defensive properties in South America couple of seasons ago, Barcelona will this winter finally bring Yerri Mina to Camp Nou.

The Colombian Diario AS is claiming that Catalans have activated the purchase option and will pay €9 million to sign the Palmeiras star outright during winter.

Barcelona initially planned to bring Mina at the end of the season and walk him through the preseason so that the youngster would have time to get used to his new surroundings but the injury situation with Samuel Umtiti and Javier Mascherano has forced Blaugrana to act swiftly.

Ernesto Valverde is also keen to add Mina as soon as possible and increase competition for places in the centre of defence.
