Burak Yilmaz’s agent has confirmed Atletico Madrid are among those interested in luring his client away from Galatasaray this off-season.
The forward has been in scintillating form for the Turkish giants this season, netting 18 times in 23 league appearances.
In addition to his domestic form, the 27-year-old has scored eight goals in the Champions League – level with Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi and one behind golden boot leader Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid.
And speaking to AS, Yilmaz’s agent Ali Egesel said his run of form has not gone unnoticed by potential suitors.
“We know that Atletico are interested. Burak knows that they are a big team,” he said.
“For him, La Liga is the best competition in the world and Atletico are in the top three.”
Egesel also revealed Yilmaz has been speaking with compatriot and Atletico star Arda Turan in regards to a summer move.
He said: “Arda Turan has been informing him about the club and is saying some very positive things. But Burak is happy in Istanbul and does not feel any pressure to leave.”
