Fatos Beqiraj claims Dinamo Zagreb will earn their first points of the Champions League campaign against Dynamo Kiev.

Despite both sides going into Tuesday’s game with nothing to play for – with Zagreb already being knocked out of Europe and the Ukranians securing their spot in the Europa League – the hosts would match Anderlecht’s unenviable record of 12 successive losses if they are beaten, something that Beqiraj is determined not to let happen.

“The atmosphere in the team is very good and we cannot wait for the game,” he told the club’s official website.

“It’s time to win the first points and I hope that we will succeed. Everyone who plays will give their best. It will be hard, but if we all give 100 per cent then we will get the result.”

Dynamo Kiev midfielder Niko Kranjcar started his professional career at Zagreb and although he misses out due to injury, the Croatia international is eagerly anticipating the game.

He added: “I just hope that it will be a good match which will be fun for the football players and fans,” he told the club’s official website.”
