Uruguayan striker Marcelo Zalayeta has completed his move to Turkey by signing for Kayserispor. The 31 year old leaves Napoli after three seasons with the club. He had joined the Partenopei from Juventus in 2007.

Zalayeta started his career at Danubio and also had a spell at Penarol before sealing a big money move to Juve in 1997. However he failed to break into the first eleven and had to be content with sparing appearances. He was loaned out to Empoli, Sevilla and Perugia and finally left the club after a decade by signing for Napoli.

Zalayeta said that he hoped he would help Kayserispor challenge for the title this season.
