Veteran Inter defender Javier Zanetti remains motivated to return from a snapped Achilles tendon.
The 39-year-old suffered the injury during Inter’s 1-0 defeat to Palermo in April and recently began his recovery from surgery.
Zanetti’s lay-off prompted suggestions that he may retire from professional football.
But the Argentinian never considered the idea and the setback has only made him more determined to continue playing.
However, he did admit an interest in taking up a non-playing role in the future.
“The injury has made me want to return even more,” he told TYCSports.
“I hope to recover in the best way possible and come back soon.
“It’s what I want more than anything.
“One day I would like to have a role at Inter as coach.”
