Zenit join race for Jorginho

talkSPORT has learned that Zenit are the latest club to have shown interest in Hellas Verona holding midfielder Jorginho.

Chelsea and Liverpool are already believed to be keen on the talented Brazilian, but it appears the Russian giants are in pole position to sign the 22-year-old footballer.

Zenit are reportedly ready to offer £8.5 million for the player’s services as well as give him a yearly wage of £1.1 million.

The Russians are obviously looking to conclude the deal in January, as they are locked in the battle with Lokomotiv and Spartak for the league title.

After helping Hellas Verona gain promotion to Serie A, Jorginho has largely impressed in his first ever season in the top flight, scoring 7 goals in 16 league outings.

He continues to be monitored by Europe’s top clubs and it is only a matter of time before he leaves the Gialloblu for greener pastures.
