Uzbekistan's league leaders Bunyodkor are expecting Brazilian former football great Zico to take over the side very soon, the club press service annonced Tuesday.
The 55-year-old is expected to come to Uzbekistan on Tuesday to hold negotiation with the club's management to finalise the conditions of his contract with Bunyodkor.
The club said they were expecting Zico to become an immediate successor to Mirjalol Kasymov, who recently took over Uzebekistan's national side replacing Rauf Inliyev, who resigned after two consecutive defeats in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
Uzbeki football federation also announced that they were expecting Zico to assist Kasymov in his work with the country's national squad.
Earlier Zico coached Japan's national team, leading them to the Asian champions title in 2004, before winning the Turkish title with Fenerbahce last year.
