Portuguese media outlet A Bola has learned that Manchester United have emerged as favourites to sign Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The highly rated forward decided to bid farewell to Paris Saint-Germain and will soon become a free agent.
Ibrahimovic has been linked with a move to Major League Soccer of late, but English Premier League appears to be a viable option as well.
According to A Bola, Manchester United officials are already in talks with Zlatan’s representatives, and they hope the Swedish superstar will be playing at Old Trafford next season.
Ibrahimovic’s high wage demands could prove to be a problem, as he reportedly wants around €19.75 million per season.
Man Utd chiefs will feel that is way too much to be paying a 34-year-old footballer, but with Zlatan bagging amazing 38 goals in 31 league appearances last term, he could very well argue he is worth every cent.
