Аrsenal thinking about triggering Partey’s release clause

Arsenal are slowly improving. While things at the Emirates are still not great and there is still a lot of work to be done, Mikel Arteta’s side is slowly but surely getting better. The Gunners are trying to make a strong finish to the season and make up for the lost ground, in order to reach European football next season. That will be important if they are to lure in new players.

And one of those could Thomas Partey. According to Libertad Digital, Arsenal have made an approach for Atletico Madrid midfielder. The Gunners have reportedly contacted the agent of the Ghanaian, to make it clear that the club would be ready to meet the 50 million euro release clause. Apparently, it is there in his contract, which means Arsenal could go directly to the player, without the need to ask Atletico for permission.

Partey has racked up 23 La Liga appearances for Atletico in 2019-20, scoring two goals.
