Coloccini wants Newcastle exit

The Independent is reporting that Newcastle United have been dealt a massive blow and that Fabricio Coloccini wants to leave the club before the end of the month.

It is thought that the players’ representatives spoke with the North East side on Thursday evening and confirmed that the 30-year-old wanted to move back to Argentina, with some believing it is for personal reasons.

This is bad news for the Magpies as Coloccini is their captain at the moment and someone they rely heavily on, especially at these difficult times.

Alan Pardew’s side are currently in a bit of a relegation battle in the English Premier League and they need all the experience that they can get in the squad.

The centre-back has been a rock at St James’ Park over the last couple of years and many fans believe that he is irreplaceable.

If he did head back to his native Argentina, then Pardew knows that he must get someone in straight away as they cannot afford to lost a player of Coloccini’s quality and not try to replace him.

It is a bit of a surprise story, but certainly one to keep an eye on in the next few days.
