16th February: Tuesday’s Football Accumulator – 6/1

With the Champions League making its return on Tuesday night, we have another stacked midweek schedule on the cards. So, for those of you looking to stick on a Tuesday acca, we have searched far and wide to find you a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Tuesday 16th February

BST 19:00 Bristol Rovers vs Portsmouth

Starting with Tuesday’s guests, despite their back-to-back defeats against top-two chasers Hull and Lincoln last month, Portsmouth have bounced back in eye-catching fashion. With a Championship return at the top of their agenda this year, the South Coast outfit were last seen putting in a professional display at Fratton Park. Securing what was a deserved 2-0 win against Swindon last week, the Blues have collected seven points from their last three League One matchups. With that run highlighted by a thumping 3-1 win away at Charlton earlier in the month, there is no doubt that Kenny Jacket will be hugely excited by his side’s continued success on the road. With the chance to potentially break back into the top-two in midweek, Portsmouth have won each of their last four third-tier matchups away from Fratton Park and they have remarkably lost just a single League One contest away from the South Coast this season. Given Bristol Rover’s extended blip, the Blues should be confident of extending on their away day purple patch in midweek. Last seen getting hit with a 2-0 loss against Oxford on home soil, the Pirates have freefallen down the third-tier table. Now in the midst of a real relegation scrap, Tuesday’s hosts have collected just a single point from their last four League One contests. More worrying, without a win in their last 10 straight contests, the Rovers have also lost each of their previous five consecutive appearances on home soil.

Tip: Portsmouth win @ 3/4

19:45 King’s Lynn vs Notts County

Putting in another hugely impressive display on home soil last week, Notts County have continued on quite the National League purple patch since opening 2021. Already tipped as one of the leading contenders to secure themselves a play-off spot this season, the Magpies have a Football League return at the top of their agenda this year. Last seen when picking up a deserved 3-1 romp against Dagenham & Redbridge, the Nottinghamshire have won each of their last four straight matchups across all formats. With just a single defeat to their name since the start of December and snatching a point off of runaway leaders Torquay last month, Neal Ardley’s side should be smelling another golden chance in midweek. Extending on their FA Trophy adventure earlier in the month, the former AFC Wimbledon boss has seen his side gain a real reputation for their success on the road. Including an impressive 2-1 victory away at fellow play-off chasers Stockport last month, Tuesday’s guests have won each of their last four straight contests away from Meadow Lane. On the flip side, while Notts County might have a promotion charge on their agenda, King’s Lynn are in a completely opposite position. Still sat in the drop zone in what is a maiden campaign of National League football, the midweek hosts have lost each of their last three matchups on the spin. Last seen getting hit with a 2-0 defeat against Bromley, it should also be noted that the Blues have recorded just a single fifth-tier victory since November 21st.

Tip: Notts County win @ 1/1

20:00 RB Leipzig vs Liverpool

While RB Leipzig might have seen their first-leg meeting on Tuesday night get moved over to Hungary, there is no doubt that the German outfit should be smelling a real chance to cause an upset. Despite getting hit with that shock 3-2 defeat away at Mainz last month, the Whites have bounced back in an eye-catching fashion. Picking up a deserved 2-1 victory against Augsburg last week, Die Roten Bullen have managed to cut Bayern Munich’s lead at the top of the Bundesliga table to just four points. With Julian Nagelsmann continuing to gain a string of plaudits at the Red Bull Arena, Leipzig have been tipped as a European dark horse once again this year. Guiding the Whites to their first-ever Champions League semi-final last summer, it should be noted that Leipzig have won each of their last four appearances on the spin. Already collecting wins over the likes of PSG and Manchester United in this year’s tournament, they should be looking to gain an early advantage against the Premier League strugglers. Throwing away the lead and suffering a 3-1 drumming away at Leicester over the weekend thanks to a stunning collapse, Jurgen Klopp’s side have seen their title ambitions take another major dent. Now sat 13 points adrift of Manchester City, the Reds have lost each of their last three matchups on the spin. Also, with just a pair of Premier League wins since December 19th, we’re backing what could be another tricky night for Liverpool in midweek.
