29th January: Tuesday’s Football Accumulator – 10/1

With another Tuesday filled with action from across England’s footballing tiers, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your midweek acca:

Tuesday 29th January

BST 19:45 Arsenal vs Cardiff

Coming off the back of their 3-1 loss at home to Manchester United in the FA Cup last week, there is no doubt that Unai Emery will be calling for an immediate response on Tuesday night. While the former PSG boss might have seen their Cup dreams come to an abrupt end, the Gunners are enjoying an impressive run in the Premier League. Now just three points adrift of Chelsea and climbing back into the top four, it will be their form in North London most impressing Emery. Arsenal have won their last five top-flight matches at the Emirates and have scored 14 goals on that run. Putting three past Cardiff when the sides met back in September, leading goalscorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should be confident of extending his tally. Finding the net against United last Thursday, the Gabon international already has 17 goals this season, including four in his last four at the Emirates. With Neil Warnock’s side coming off the back of a 3-0 hammering away at Newcastle last week, they have failed to win any of their last four outings, including a 1-0 loss to League One outfit Gillingham in the FA Cup. Now conceding three or more goals in five of their last nine matches on the road, we’re backing Aubameyang to enjoy a very fruitful night in front of goal.

Tip: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to score 2+ goals @ 8/5

19:45 Swansea vs Birmingham

Despite enduring a tricky start on their return to the Championship, Swansea are currently enjoying by far their brightest spell of the season. With Grahem Potter’s side picking up a 4-1 win over Gillingham and booking their spot in the fifth round of this year’s FA Cup, the Whites are unbeaten in their last six outings and will have their sights set on securing a playoff push in the second half of the campaign. Now winning four of their last five and with the opportunity to move within touching distance of the top-six, Potter will be most impressed by their recent performances in South Wales. Winning their last two matches at the Liberty, including a 1-0 win over title contenders Sheffield United, the Swans have now lost a match on home soil since Boxing Day. As for Tuesday’s visitors, things could not be going much worse for Gary Monk’s Birmingham side. Despite flirting with the playoff positions at the end of 2018, the Blues have lost their last three matches on the bounce and have now slipped out of the top half of the table. Still looking for their first win of the New Year, we’re backing Monk’s men to suffer another difficult night at the Liberty Stadium.

Tip: Home win @ 23/20

20:00 Manchester United vs Burnley

Well, picking up a 3-1 win away at Arsenal last week and now extending their winning run to eight games on the bounce, few at Old Trafford would have expected Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s start to life in the United dugout. Surpassing Sir Matt Busby’s long-standing unbeaten record, the Reds now sit just three points adrift of the Champions League positions, only two months after Jose Mourinho had written off their chances. Along with England international Marcus Rashford now bagging four in his last four Premier League appearances, it hasn’t just been United’s newfound attacking identity that has people talking. Now keeping a clean sheet in three of their last five matches across all competitions, Solskjaer will be looking for a similar display on Tuesday. While Sean Dyche’s Burnley side might be enjoying a four-match unbeaten run in the top-flight, they are coming off the back of a 5-0 hammering against Manchester City and have now failed to register a goal in over 200 minutes of football. Now scoring just three goals in their last nine matches against established top-six sides, we’re backing United to extend their winning run and also leave Old Trafford with another clean sheet intact.

Tip: Home win to nil @ 1/1
