Who could be on their way to Chelsea over the final few days of the transfer window?

Managing to make a much-needed return to winning ways over the weekend with a 2-1 victory at home against Leicester, Chelsea still have the feel of a side seeking some stability.

Although the Blues might have managed to bounce back from that stunning 3-0 drumming away at Leeds on August 21st, Thomas Tuchel has made it clear that he is seeking new arrivals before the window slams shut.

While the likes of Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja might still be able to leave Stamford Bridge over the coming days, the former European champions could be in for a late flurry.

Finally managing to agree what could be an £80million fee for Leicester’s Wesley Fofana, we have taken a look at a few other superstars who have been linked with a dramatic late move to west London.

Anthony Gordon – Everton

While Chelsea might have welcomed Raheem Sterling to Stamford Bridge last month following a £47.5million move from Manchester City, Tuchel is still keen on recruiting another English star this summer.

Finding the net as Everton played out a 1-1 draw away at Brentford over the weekend, it appears that Anthony Gordon remains firmly at the top of Chelsea’s wishlist.

Playing a vital role as the Toffees clung to their Premier League status back in May, the 21-year-old has received plenty of plaudits over the past 12 months.

Bursting onto the scene last season, Chelsea saw their initial bid of £40million bid rejected immediately by Everton last week.

However, with Sky Sports reporting that Gordon still remains keen on securing a move to west London, it is believed that Tuchel’s men are lining up another late attempt.

With Frank Lampard’s side continuing to deal with some public financial issues behind the scenes at Goodison, the former European champions could be willing to spend £60million on the England U21 starlet.

Wilfried Zaha – Crystal Palace

Although Tuchel’s side might still be keen on striking a late deal for Gordon before the September 1st deadline, it appears that the Blues have a potential Plan B lined up.

While Chelsea might still remain in talks with Everton’s hierarchy, The Daily Mail reported on Sunday that the Premier League giants could have their sights set on a certain Wilfried Zaha.

With Tuchel making it clear all summer that he is desperate to add attacking reinforcements, the Ivory Coast international has enjoyed a stellar start to the 2022/23 campaign.

Bagging three Premier League strikes in as many appearances since opening the new season, the 29-year-old also has just one-year remaining on his current deal at Selhurst Park.

Although Patrick Vieira might remain adamant that the Eagles’ attacking MVP will not be leaving south London over the next few days, it has been suggested that Zaha himself could be keen on a potential move across the capital.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Barcelona

Although Sterling might have bagged both goals in Chelsea’s 2-1 victory against Leicester last weekend, it is no secret that the former European champions are seeking an out-and-out number nine.

Watching Romelu Lukaku make an almost immediate return to Inter Milan this summer, Tuchel’s side also saw Timo Werner head back to RB Leipzig on a permanent deal.

With Kai Havertz often deployed as almost a false nine, the Blues remain keen on bringing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back to the Premier League.

Although there might have been suggestions over the weekend that talks between the two parties have cooled due to a disagreement over the contract length that is being offered, dialogue remains open.

With Aubameyang racking up 56 goals in his 63 games under Tuchel during their time together at Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea still appear to be in pole position to snap up the ex-Arsenal skipper’s signature.
