According to a recent report from Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan have reached an agreement to sign Sven Botman.
Botman has been a target that many clubs have been looking at in the last twelve months and even as recently as the January transfer window, it seemed as if he was destined for the Premier League – with Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers leading the charge.
That didn’t quite happen and Lille managed to keep hold of him, but it’s unlikely they’ll be able to do so beyond the next one or two windows.
Botman is a world class player in his own right, even at this stage of his career, and Milan are recognising that. They may have a deal in place that would be worth five years which would highlight not only his value to the Italian giants, but also the long-term plan for Milan to become a force in European football once again.
