Alaves won’t lower €25m Lucas Perez price amid Barcelona interest

Lucas Perez of Alaves has a release clause in his contract set at €25 million, and the club will not lower that price if Barcelona come calling, according to AS.

The 31-year-old striker, also capable of playing in a number 10 role or on the right wing, arrived from West Ham last summer for just over €2 million. He has nine goals and four assists to his name in 22 games in all competitions for his club so far this season.

Barcelona are in desperate need for an attacking player with Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele both out of action. Further more, the young Frenchman will be out for at least five months, which means the Catalans may sign a replacement outside of transfer windows, but the player has to come from another club in Spain. Perez is the latest name on the long list of potential options, but if they decide to swoop in, they will have to pay the full price.
