Alexander-Arnold signs new Liverpool deal

Trent Alexander-Arnold has signed a new contract with Liverpool, the Merseyside club have confirmed.

This extension follows the one signed by Andy Robertson on Friday, and even though the previous deal of Alexander-Arnold was to run until the summer of 2021, Liverpool obviously wanted to reward his progress with fresh terms.

The 20-year-old fullback has so far played 67 games in all competitions for the Reds, including a Champions League final last year, having joined them at the age of six. He is currently sidelined with injury, but is expected to be back in contention very soon. He is now a regular member of the starting XI of a team currently topping the Premier League table under the guidance of manager Jurgen Klopp.

The new deal is set to keep the youngster at Anfield for five years. His fresh commitment to the club comes as no big surprise, as he has made his wish to be a Liverpool captain one day known a while back.
