April 19th: Saturday’s La Liga Double – 4/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

With this year’s La Liga title scrap looking like it will go right down to the wire, Barcelona will be hoping to lay down another title marker when they return their attention back to domestic duties on Saturday afternoon.

As a high-flying Valencia hope to extend on their sensational flurry, we have four La Liga showdowns on the cards.

Ahead of a heavyweight Saturday of Spanish action, we have taken a glance at some of the most appealing La Liga betting tips that are available.

17:30 Mallorca vs Leganes

While Mallorca might have only just clung to their La Liga status last season, the Pirates have firmly underlined their status as one of Spain’s ultimate surprise packages this time around. Last seen putting in another stellar display as they clinched a 2-0 victory away at Real Sociedad, Saturday’s hosts find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. At the heart of a sensational European scrap and breaking a string of records this year, Jagoba Arrasate’s men have rightfully received a string of plaudits from across Spain’s elite. Heading into March’s international break with a 2-1 win against Espanyol, Mallorca have suffered just a pair of defeats from any of their previous nine La Liga appearances – a run that stems back to February 1st. Opening Saturday’s fixtures with just their goal difference keeping them outside the European spots, the former Osasuna boss should be smelling another golden opportunity this weekend.

Although Leganes might have opened the New Year with their sights set on retaining their La Liga status, Borja Jimenez’s men have a real uphill battle on their hands over the final month. Falling to a 1-0 loss against Barcelona last weekend, Saturday’s guests have collected just a single point from any of their previous five appearances. Travelling to Palma sat in the drop zone and pencilled in as a leading relegation contender, the Cucumber Growers look set for another stern examination here. Hit with consecutive 3-2 defeats against Real Betis and Los Blancos on either side of March’s international break, Leganes have also claimed just a single victory from their last 12 matchups across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to January 18th. Likewise, suffering a 1-0 defeat when they welcomed Mallorca to the capital back in August, they have lost each of their previous three meetings by a 1-0 scoreline.

20:00 Las Palmas vs Atletico Madrid

While Atletico Madrid might have seen their La Liga title dreams take a major blow on either side of March’s international break, Diego Simeone’s men have turned somewhat of a recent corner. Dragging themselves to what was an action-packed 4-2 victory at home against Real Valladolid earlier in the week, Saturday’s guests have secured consecutive victories across any competition since the start of February. Last seen outside of the Spanish capital securing a 2-1 victory against Sevilla, Simeone’s camp will be excited by a dominate record against Las Palmas. Landing a 2-0 victory when they welcomed the Yellows to town for their reverse La Liga meeting on November 3rd, they have won five of their previous six meetings and should be smelling a golden opportunity this weekend. It should also be highlighted, Simeone’s men have suffered just a single domestic defeat on their travels since the middle of January.

Managing to make what was an essential return to winning ways last week as they secured a 3-1 victory away at Getafe, Las Palmas will be desperate to use that shock performance as a platform to build on. However, opening Saturday’s showdown sat in the relegation zone, Diego Martinez’s side have shown a string of issues since returning from Spain’s festive break. Getting April underway with a 3-1 loss at home Real Sociedad, Los Amarillos have remarkably collected just a single win from any of their previous 14 appearances across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to December 22nd. Watching their Copa del Rey adventure come to an end thanks to an infamous 4-0 drumming against Elche back in January, Las Palmas have also gained a reputation for their glaring struggles on home soil. Yet to notch a single home victory so far this calendar year, Martinez’s side should be set for another stern examination here.
