Arsenal are closing in on the signings of Newcastle United’s Mathieu Debuchy and Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona, according to Sky Sports.
Defender Debuchy, who was part of France’s squad for the World Cup finals in Brazil, is expected to complete his switch in the next 48 hours, and will fill the void left by Bacary Sagna who joined Premier League champions Manchester City last month.
Sanchez, who also starred in South America this summer, has also been linked with Liverpool but favours a move to the Emirates.
Approaches for Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy and Lars Bender of Bayer Leverkusen have also been mooted, as Arsene Wenger looks to build on last season’s fourth place victory and FA Cup triumph.
The Gunners begin the forthcoming campaign at home against fellow London side Crystal Palace, and they can be backed at a price of 1/3 to take all three points.
