Arsenal in Perišić talks

Arsenal have begun talking to Inter Milan about the possibility of signing Ivan Perišić, according to Sky’s Italian branch.

As is the case with Barcelona over the potential signing of Denis Suarez, there is a discourse between the wishes if the two clubs, with the Gunners hoping for a loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season, while Inter are only interested in a permanent move at the moment. It remains to be seen if the gap in their respective interests can be overcome and a deal struck within the next few days, before the transfer window closes.

The Croatian international will turn 30 on February 2nd and has been at Inter since 2015. He has been linked with a move to the Premier League before, with Manchester United reportedly interested last summer.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery, who often speaks about potential signings from the aspect of “players who can help” his team, recently revealed a winger would likely be a useful addition. It was believed he was referring to Suarez at the time, but Perišić would certainly more in that mould than the Barcelona midfielder.
