Arsenal and AS Roma are set to do a swap deal involving Aaron Ramsey and Patrick Schick, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Having spent a decade at the Emirates, Ramsey obviously doesn’t have a future with Arsenal. Various media reports, later confirmed by the player himself, revealed that negotiations about a new contract had taken place and his signature on it had appeared on the horizon, before the club suddenly withdrew their offer and informed the player there will not be another one. The situation left only two questions to be resolved – whether the Welshman would leave in January in a cut-price deal or in the summer for free.
Patrik Schick hasn’t really impressed in a Roma shirt so far. However, his talent is there to be seen and at 22, he has much potential for progress. Unlike Ramsey, who is more of a midfielder that occasionally plays wide, Schick is a winger by trade, also capable of playing as a centre-forward.
